I’m Hannah Lawicki, founder of PlantKissed Studio. For the past six years, I’ve been learning the traditional art of plant dyeing from my mother — a practice she has refined over two decades. Together, we honour a family legacy by blending time-honoured botanical dye techniques with contemporary, wearable design.
Each piece is handcrafted through a slow, intentional process that invites nature to lead. Leaves, flowers, and bark are foraged or garden-grown, then pressed into natural fibres and steamed with iron-rich mordants. These minerals act as binders, allowing the pigments to bond permanently to silk and cotton. The results are complex, living colours — crimsons, golds, greys and purples — shaped by the chemistry of the plants and the seasons. No two pieces can ever be exactly alike.
