Hannah Lawicki is a textile artist based in Ocean Grove, Victoria. Her practice is rooted in the botanical dyeing traditions passed down from her mother, Julie Millerick — a textile artist and educator with over four decades of experience. Under Julie’s guidance, Hannah has developed a distinctive approach that combines inherited knowledge with her own contemporary sensibility.
Using foraged and garden-grown plant materials, Hannah creates one-of-a-kind textiles on natural fibres such as silk and cotton. Her process embraces natural chemistry, slow making, and seasonal change — yielding pieces that reflect both environmental rhythms and mindful craft. Each work is an exploration of colour, texture, and place, grounded in a deep respect for ecological process and intergenerational learning.
